Yep. I personally had a close look to the wax figure that few years ago, and it's
VERY DIFFERENT compared to the first photo shown in this topic. Although it didn't look EXACTLY like Ayu, it's like a 80% match, really.
In the photo I took, the wax figure was wearing Ayumi's very own dress. Last time Ayumi had her OWN ROOM, with barriers. You have to pay like HK$80 to get in and have a closer look and a photo taken.
Now, I think they made it a "free-view" exhibit. It was still okay in the January 07 photo posted by Jeffycue.
Seems like some really tragic touch-up this time. Doesn't look like Ayumi at all. 0% match.
And, here's probably another reason why the wax figure was ruined:
I'm surprised they didn't
kill people who attempted to touch or kiss the face.
