It depends really as I view JRock as a different genre to Visual Kei, but since VK seems to be the order of the day, i'll give my thoughts on it ^^.

Personally i used to really love it, but i did get some stick from kids in school etc... for listening to "Japanese cross dressers". Thing's don't differ much at home either with my brother and sister always picking problems with it.

I don't really listen to much VK anymore, mostly because i haven't heard much in the past year or so which really interested me at all. I like some of the older bands like Malice mizer, Schwarz Stein etc... and not to mention X Japan, though they're style changed over time to more of a usual rock look, except hide of course.

I like the whole image side to it though, i think it goes towards creating the genre, but it seems that some bands may rely too heavily on the image side of things, and musically fall into a generic state, wich tends to run through VK music in my opinion.

Still, if the music's good and the band has a good look etc... then there's absolutely nothing wrong with it as far as i'm concerned.
