They can't be marshmallows... they should be
mantou (or Chinese steamed buns; 饅頭) actually. Mantou bunny is a quite common decoration used on Chinese dishes, but doesn't mean you'll always encounter it. It depends on if that particular Chinese restaurant using it or not.
PS: I just look at the last pic again (cuz I didn't really look at it carefully beforehand)... I thought you're talking about something used as decorations... LOL. Apparently they look more like buns to me now. The bunnies looks like BBQ buns except no BBQ + in different shapes. That's all.
