I ultimately chose Ayu, but here's what I think of each of their talking voices:

Ayu- Sounds much deeper than her singing voice, but still a cute voice that's pleasing to the ears.

Namie- I guess Namie's probably the most average voice in my opinion, so it really doesn't affect me more than any normal Japanese woman's voice would.

Hikki- She actually sounds somewhat awkward, certainly more so in English (not because of mispronunciation, but because she just speaks oddly). I don't know, she just kind of speaks in a strange, slow, manner even though we all know she speaks both languages flawlessly.

Kumi- Her voice kind of makes me laugh because she just speaks so incredibly fast all the time. My host parents said she has a really thick accent, but it just kind of sounds fast to me. She tends to go one minute from very low, and then she'll shift to very high screeches when she's excited.
