My Japanese teacher says that the ultimate problem is when you literally translate from one language to another... and it also doesn't help that she thinks in both languages, haha. But I think Utada speaks in a slow manner only because she knows she's being recorded, and she wants it done on the first take.

I'm sure most bilinguals have this problem though... like, the fact that you have to translate, sometimes very quickly and accurately, so when you say something, it's different from what you translated.

出入り = In 'n out. But to literally translate it, it means "Out 'n in".
