There are things about it that are not factual (I don't recall any piece of news that had Ayu retaking a kiss with Shawn Yue for 20 times, though I think they meant the kiss on the cheek; I recall it was 3 times, and each of them got progressively longer, from 5 to 10 to 20 seconds) but I think it's quite an insight.
Undoubtedly, I think Ayu feels threatened, but I don't think she's doing this simply to drown her competition. I think she genuinely wants to expand her music career overseas! She's kind of telling other J-pop artistes that they can make a mark overseas if they want to as well, so it's not just talent at home but talent that is recognised. Yup, she's pioneering the whole scene, which is typical of Ayu as a trendsetter.
