How to Buy from iTunes Japan

So some of us, especially with ⎡Together when...⎦ coming out have wondered if it was possible to buy music from iTunes Japan.

Most people would say "No, unless you live there", but there is actually a way.

-----

JBOX.com

For this method, you would have to buy an iTunes music card for the iTunes Japan Store and redeem it there, automatically creating an account for you.

Now, outside of Japan it would seem impossible to get a hold of a ITS Japan music card, but fortunately, JBOX.com (http://www.jbox.com/) sells ITS Japan Music cards.

----

They offer 1,500 yen and 3,000 yen cards for US$19 and US$37 respectively and they will either send it to you by mail, or email a scan of the music card number to you (free of charge).

Yes, it is more than the YEN->US exchange rate, but I'm guessing the overcharge is the 'price of convenience' etc.

1500 yen > US$14 approx. (to date)
3000 yen > US$27 approx. (to date)

----

This is something I'd definitely try if I wanted to get stuff from iTunes Japan to support whichever artist (especially Ayu)... I don't mind the $5 extra really...

So just wanted to tell you guys, hope its useful

eBay

The alternative method noted by mishidabo is eBay.

It works the same way as above and can be cheaper and much faster. You can actually get the code immediately, as you pay for it.

I don't know exactly what to search, but if you search "iTunes Japan Music Card" you'll find a few things.

The downside of this method is that some sellers require you to use Paypal etc. (so if you're not comfortable with that, you could have a problem) and also, I'm guessing the stock is limited. Additionally, some of them are bids and not 'Buy it Now'.

But all in all, both of the methods above can get you into iTunes Japan! =]
