interesting question. i can only answer this question wrt to the years before i became an ayu fan ( < 2000). i felt that she was acting cute. i cant stand her voice and was just a regular singer from Japan getting popular after SPEED disband.
probably now if i am not an ayu fan, i would think that she sucks. practically everybody around me thinks that she is lame and cannot make it anymore. She is half deaf and cannot sing on stage. She would probably be testing her mic everytime on stage cos she cant hear anything. or probably trying to increase the volume of her mic such that the whole arena turns deaf.
