Is it just me, or does it seriously sound like Ayu's off-key in some parts?
I was just listening to the 'A Song for XX' album last night, and when 'For my Dear' came on and I was listening to it closely, I realized Ayu sounded pretty off-key in some parts. Here's the segments where I thought she sounded off:
(The highlighted parts are where she sounded out of tune.)
"yume ni mita shiawase
wa..."
-From the second stanza.
"te ni irete shimaeba kondo
wa
ushinau kowasa osou
kara"
-Also from the second stanza.
"da kara tte warikireru
kurai
ningen tte kantan demo
nai"
-Third stanza.
"shimite kite totemo
itaku tte"
-From the fourth stanza. This one was the worst IMO.
"samishisa
ga jibun o tsuk
urou"
-From the fifth stanza.
"hitori kiri naritakunai
kara"
-Also from the fifth stanza.
--So it was mainly the words she'd cut off on...and I don't know if this was Avex's purpose, but I must say those notes sounded pretty sour for something that was intended, and yes, I know that Ayu was not a very strong singer back then. It just seems strange that if this was not meant to come out this way, then why did Avex let it slide?

Well anyways, what's your take on this you guys? Do you think these parts are off-key?
Oh and here's a link to listen to the song if you want to listen for these parts:
