I totally agree with this. She feels really fake when she's all about dresses and jewellery. I'm not saying that looking good and glamorous is a bad thing or anything (it's just good if you're attending a special occasion or something) but it's almost like she's like that all the time (expect at concert encores etc).
I liked t2m style because it was raw and sort of messy and not "is my hair looking good? I just spent billions of money to this dress~~ Gosh my fake lashes are falling off..." =___=''
I like Ayu's style during her earlier career years, when she could look stylish and cool but still real and wore less makeup. Like that military-style dress she wore at some "NEVER EVER" perfomance looked good on her even though it was really simple and didn't look like a overdecorated christmas tree. And Ayu is pretty with a minimal amount of makeup

So in other words I think she should become less commercial and be natural and real again in public too (not only at her concerts and so on), since I think that's what most of people in Japan loved about her most at first. And it could help to increase her sales.
