There are multiple artists that come to mind with this thread:

Utada Hikaru:
Oddly enough, I used to consider her and Ayu my favorite artists. However, since the release of her Single Collection Vol. 1, nothing after that (not counting Exodus) was really that great. The singles have all been dull, and I don't consider any of her songs after that compilation to be classics. HEART STATION especially was just crap. It was dull and boring, and everything I used to hate in the Hikki tracks I'd always skip on her older albums. Unless she does something amazing with her second English album, I just really won't give two craps about her.

Ito Yuna:
Never have I so rapidly shifted my opinion of an artist. I first heard of her when Precious was released as a single and fell in love with that song, as well as ENDLESS STORY and losin'. However, once her debut album was released, I hated it. The entire thing was just a collection of lackluster filler tracks that couldn't even qualify as mediocre B-sides. Her second album was not any better, and only one of her singles were good (I'm Here). I eventually just started hating her voice and now I can't stand her at all. The extremely disappointing covers of My Heart Will Go On and All I Want For Christmas just sealed the deal. I'm done with her for good.

Shiina Ringo:
I will always have an enormous amount of respect for Shiina Ringo for all the work she did priot to Tokyo Jihen, but she just fell into mediocrity. What was once amazing became unappealing and just good, not amazing or spectacular like she used to be on her own. I was ecstatic when I heard she would be releasing a fourth solo album, but was sorely disappointed to find out that it was basically a collection of remixed old songs and some cheesy new ones. I've quit following Tokyo Jihen because I just don't have any faith in them ever since they went straight to jazz music.
