No. 1 streak is very important in the Japan music industry. If not, then why would B'z, Mr. Chlidren, KinKi Kids, etc. can maintain their streak for at least 11 years (to 18 years)? Why wouldn't the rival companies tryin' to destroy the streak? I mean, they can just throw B'z vs. KinKi Kids and one of the streak will be broken. I think No. 1 streak is such a valuable thing for a company that it must hold it as long as possible. Last, I would like to point out that ayu is the current female artist that has a long streak (Seiko had the longest one in female category, but that was long time ago).
@ayu_fan: I think the gap must be less than 4550 instead. 5000 is a bit dangerous to me (even tho ayu's factor is always a bit higher..)
