There's no point in doing a remix or a cover that sounds exactly the same as the original, though. Then you're just setting yourself up for failure and harsher criticism for lack of originality and inability to accurately recreate a classic.

I actually hate the groove of the original and 10th Anniversary versions of Depend on you. It's overly simple and flat and hardly syncopated at all. To me, that's just kind of jarring for a contemporary pop song. Bentley Jones' groove and arrangement are fantastic!
