The vast majority of those lawsuits get thrown out. But I was talking about privacy lawsuits... in the States if you are a public figure you cannot sue for having your picture taken and published unless it is shown to be somehow damaging or offensive. And most of the time even if it's offensive, a judge will still throw your case out of court unless the offensive things have been fabricating. Yes people sue for ridiculous things, but they rarely win.
