I think the lyrics of M talk about a person's expectations and insecurities over a relationship. In this case, ayu's looking at the fact the curtain has risen for some today (they've met and fell in love with each other) and fallen for others (they used to be in love but are now breaking up), and how relationships can be quite unstable, so she prays (for Virgin Mary) that the love she has found will actually be the last one in her life (the curtain will only rise but never fall), so that it will fnally last forever until death...

I don't think there's a protest in the lyrics. Just a contemplation about how relationships can be, and a wish for spiritual enlightment.
