They'll gain more profit with versions that cost 3150 + 3980 + 3980 for a combined 11110 JPY than they would with just versions that cost 3150 + ~5000 for a combined 8150 JPY for the whole set.
I think that Warner thought ayaka had fans that would buy all three versions and I guess they were right.

Sing to the Sky is kinda emulating the ULTRA BLUE.. thingy, where there was one [or more] major physical hit [WINDING ROAD - I believe, perhaps? / COLORS - Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro] and some singles with mediocre sales that were hits digitally.
Sure, ayaka's not gonna sell a million with this one, but I think that YUI is a bit more distant from her peak than ayaka.
