They had to basically give away tickets, like some sold low as $20, and she also canceled the last few dates because she was 'sick'. Or in other words, not bothering because no money will be generated.
I think her lives in Japan would be great for her, she is like one of the most popular western acts in japan, Her album outsold many of Japan's top artists and was in the like top 10 year, each of her albums have either sold over a million or just under in Japan.

Japan - well The Best Damn Thing was extremely successful in Japan with it getting certified million by RIAJ
also it was the only non Japan act to be featured in the 2007 Oricon Top 100Album list too -
