I agree. But they all had some pretty boring arrangements too, IMO. soft intro > chorus > soft in-between part > chorus > rocky bridge > chorus, mostly, I believe. This pretty much goes for a lot of his songs (About You, Beautiful Day, July 1st) but not all with rocky bridges of course. ^^ He did a good job on the July 1st intro, though...
IMO Naoto Suzuki is much much better. He has some great original arrangements (Dearest, SEASONS, End of the World, Who..., ever free, SCAR, etc.).
On the other hand, I'm happy that it's not HAL again because they tend to oversynth songs.
