Although most say they once liked her and that they still enjoy a few of her older songs, the majority of Japanese people I meet say the same things over and over about Ayu:

1. Ayu is over. She's lost her touch, her spark. She's worn out and embarassing now.
2. Ayu is fake. She had her eyes done and sets a bad example for self image.
3. Ayu is such a diva. She's *****y and an over-the-top control freak.

She's reached that level of fame where the country is split on her. Half hate her, half love her, and the middle ground is slim. It just comes with the territory, and it doesn't reflect her as an artist or a person.
