Why not? The cost of a one cd collection by other artists is about the same cost as AC, so why not fork over the money for just the first two discs? Now of course it's entirely possible that they could like some stuff on the third disc after listening, but what I'm saying is that their reason for buying is likely not the third disc.

If someone hasn't bought something from Ayu in the 10 years that she has absolutely pervaded every part of the Japanese Entertainment industry, I doubt they will start now unless she does something like drastically change her music style which would appeal to a new group of listeners that didn't care about her at all before. Of course there are probably a few individual cases, but I doubt that people en masse just decided they would go pick up Ayumi's album for the first time.

And as I said, so do other artists that are waaay out of the spotlight every year. It would be more impressive to say that Ayu was able to fill open air stadiums solo every year like back in 2002.
