The "VCD" you're talking about (Malaysian version of Surreal), they're only used in mainland Asia right? Do you know why they don't just use DVD, like in Secret and A Best 2 you're talking about?
Recently, a Chinese friend of mine brought me a Fahrenheit (boyband) CD + VCD, and the video quality is quite bad. Is the SURREAL VCD quality also bad? I can't imagine Avex allowing that. Thanks for answering ^__^

Well, the quality of SURREAL VCD is ok (DVD-rip to VCD), but still nothing compare to DVD.
In my opinion, I think the main reason for releasing VCD is because the cost of production for VCD is much more cheaper, and maybe also due to more people owns VCD player than DVD player.
Besides, SURREAL VCD was released few years ago, where DVD is still very new and expensive, and probably not many people owns a DVD player back then. So they release VCD for Malaysian.
Now DVD is very common in Malaysia already.
And the price for A BEST 2 (CD+2DVD) Malaysia Edition is almost similar to a single album's price [RM40+], and the packaging (first press or normal press) is similar with Japan and Overseas version [A BEST 2, A COMPLETE]; GUILTY (CD+DVD) also includes first press gifts "photo book" for GUILTY. ^_^
Malaysia version of ayu albums only release in CD+DVD format.
However, currently Malaysia only releases album [since Secret I think, not sure 'bout (miss)understood]. All singles and DVDs (live) are still imported from Hong Kong and Japan.
[P/S: It is good that SPICE GIRLS Greatest Hits (Malaysia version) released in CD & CD+DVD format, as I wish to collect both versions before it release in Malaysia]
