I just don't see her commiting in doing all the work needed to break in the US music scene. Haven't recent mainstream breakthrough starlets like Katy Perry & Lady GaGa both been around in the scene for years before finally building enough momentum to really get big, it's certainly not just about getting a "hit" song.
Leona was huge over in UK & Europe before crossing over to the US, she had a lot of support in the US music biz even before her US debut. crossing over to US from UK is not a huge leap, a lot of artists do it in varying scale.
I just feel she & her team gave up on Exodus sorta easily, I just don't see Hikki setting aside her career in japan as long as it's going to be needed for her US career.
I personally don't think Utada has what it takes for a top 40 hitmaker in the US, but that's just my own view.
