I know Victoria Beckham peformed on World Idol that broadcasted here in the U.S. on New Years Day. I can't remember the name of the song she performed, but it was a bizarre mixture of a dance beat, a techno beat, and computerized vocals. (Imagine a cross among Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and BoA.) The entire song was lip-synched very poorly and she only matched the words for 20 seconds at most during the song. I assume she was trying to promote the song as her new single, but did she really deserve to share the stage with Idol winners from around the world who all had to sing live? Bad timing Victoria and Simon Fuller. Regardless, I *heart* her new hairstyle!!! She dyed her hair brown with blonde highlights and it looks great. Btw, Victoria is BIG in the U.K. according to people who tried to defend her less than stellar World Idol performance, but I almost never hear anyone speak about her music career here in the U.S.

I couldn't stand listening to Melanie C's voice on most of the songs from the Spice and Spiceworld albums, but her voice is flawless in her album Northern Star. Of course, I *heart* this album just as I *heart* Victoria's World Idol hair. I definately recommend listening to songs from the album especially "Northern Star" and "I Turn To You." If I can ever find Northern Star at Best Buy I'd be a very happy girl. ^_^

J.C. Penney plays Geri Halliwell's songs on the TVs in the Juniors clothing section every time I'm there and so does Afterthoughts, especially the drawn-out "looooooooooooooook at me" song. Eh, the ones I've heard are catchy. But every time I try to search for her I receive links to thousands of "Explicit Material!!!!" pages. I'll quote Jerms by saying "she's probably behind the scenes still doing pornos and crap." Hehe.

Melanie B. . . She has a daughter too? O.o I wasn't too impressed with her album titled Hot especially because of its cover picture, and the song titles containing bad language. So I decided to give it a listen a while ago and. . . it simply didn't work. I can't quite explain why. Maybe it's because she strayed far away from the first 2 Spice Girls albums and tried introduced her new R&B style too quickly, or that her voice isn't as strong as I expected it to be, or maybe because it was one of those albums that has only 2 great songs ("Lullaby" and "Step Inside") with the rest being mediocre.

I haven't heard any of Emma Bunton's releases, so no comment for her.

I also heard that they were supposed to make a new album, but I don't know how true the rumor is. I just hope that they won't be in a situation like SPEED was/is -- reunite to make new charity singles and a new album, but their voices no longer blend well (example: "Be My Love") and their material is pretty much the same as it was before they broke up (big exception: "Walking in the rain" which is undoubtedly one of their most unique singles ever).
