Is there a pretty simple way to rip the DVD without losing quality (Like what we mainly download here on AHS) so that I can put it on my PS3? A free program or something that will do it? I'd really like to start adding some DVDs to my collection, but I don't want them to be there to look pretty...

If you want to upload a copy of your DVD onto your PS3s harddrive then you'll need two programs:
DVD Decrypter and
HandBrake.
The first thing to do is
rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter in "File Mode" so that you get a VIDEO_TS folder on your computer's HD.
The second thing is to start up HandBrake and open the VIDEO_TS folder that you just created.
Next, select "PS3" in the presets pane, and depending if they're available, you'll want to turn on the "detelecine", "decomb", and "deinterlace" filters as well as enabling "2-Pass encoding" to increase the quality of your encode. Also, if it's available, you may also want to consider cropping your video if it has black bars on the top and bottom of the screen to make your video a "poor man's widescreen."
Doing all that should give you a pretty HQ video file since the average bitrate of the PS3 preset is 2500 kbps.
Alternately, you could also use DVD Decrypter to
rip the DVD as an ISO (with an MDS file if it's a double-layer DVD) and then use
ImgBurn to burn it to a DVD-R / DVD±R DL (so you can watch it on any DVD player since the region code will be removed) or simplest of all, you could use
VLC to watch the original DVDs on your computer. The only problem that may arise with VLC is that newer versions may not be able to circumvent with region codes because the developers changed how the program reads media from the optical drive, so if it doesn't work, just let me know and I can send you an older version that I know works (at least on my computers).
If any of these options interest you and you'd like some help, just let me know and I'll do what I can.
