I don't think she needs a break at all. Personally, I don't think a break would do anything but make fans irritable. It's not like the time she spends on a record actually factors into the quality.. for all we know some of her better albums might've been made in the same time frame.

I think people tend to blame Ayu when they personally don't like the albums or anything.. the albums are still high quality, just not to your tastes, you know? I don't get it. If you're growing away from Ayu, it's not because she's changing.. if anything it's because you as a listener are because she's still making the same quality music as before.. hm.. haha. Not really pointing fingers here, just saying in general.

ALSO: I don't understand why people seem to have this weird ficticious past of her vocal.. it's ALWAYS been unstable. God, her vocal is the best it has been since 2002/2003 aka the year of the AMAZING VOCALS and people are like: "It's terrible!" when they hear her at a live.. I swear, it has always been like that and people have past Ayu on some pedestal like she never did wrong vocally/musically.. oi.
Personal opinion here, but I don't think her voice has been getting better. I used to listen to her concerts and live performances and thought "Wow, she sounds really good live!" and it amazed me. She could hit the high notes and sounded terrific. Now, when I watch her newer concerts and performances I have trouble continuing to watch because her voice sounds most of the time terrible. It's like her singing technique changed and it got worst. Yeck, she can't even hit the high notes now (for example, B&D, near the end of the song - sounds perfectly good in the CD version but she has never until this day hit that note correctly in her performances).

It would be crazy to say that Ayu is not changing. Because there's a clear difference in her music style from ASFXX to I am... to RAINBOW to MY STORY to NEXT LEVEL. Because of course, Ayu is always reinventing herself. This is just me, but I think the materials Ayu has been releasing just isn't up to the level. I've always loved her ballads, now her ballads don't grab my attention anymore. I've definitely been a huge fan of her rock songs since she started releasing them, but somehow the ones in GUILTY, NEXT LEVEL don't sound that special at all. So to me, Ayu has lost her touch.

Of course taking a long break and taking her time to make an album don't necessarily mean that the result will be wonderful. But she could also have some benefits from it. I would love it if Ayu decided to sit down, take her time and compose again.
