I don't get why you don't believe it's not possible lol, every artists renew their contract or not, like sowelu, tommy february6, etc...
The end of the contract is a FACT, it's normal.
Ppl talked about it only because of 2 rumors :
1) moving to avex
2) moving to another department of Sony Music (which is the most possible in Mika's case)

Mika debuted in november 2001, it's been 8 years since then. Her contract was renewed more than one time already. Why not once more?
