To all those saying that the US is bad for releasing singles after the album --> You still buy the Japanese album with all the singles on it anyway. It makes no difference whether they come before or after, you still bought the album with the singles you already bought.

Anyway, I like both so I can't really vote.
Japanese = more music faster. You can pretty much bet that your favourite artist will have a new album out in a year or two. Also, I like how I get my money's worth with Japanese singles/albums. DVDs with all the videos on, booklets with lots of pictures and lyrics, the obi etc etc. But I feel the music becomes old quickly, because there's always something new coming out. But then again, we get a lot more from them, different single editions, different album editions, tour DVDs and everything.

American = too slow. I have to wait years for even a new song to appear from a favourite artist, then like another year or two for the album to come out. Meanwhile, Koda Kumi just released her 60th single, her 10th album is coming and a new BEST just came out before. I just find it's very lazy; music video or two, one big photoshoot and using all the shots from that shoot for the entire album era etc.

So yeah, both have their pros and cons.
