Sunshine, I didn't say all of them were boybands, I just meant a lot of them are. And that's, obviously, true. So don't put words in my mouth, please. Also, I never said the white team had terrible vocalists, just that they're not as good as the red. Which is also true. EXILE, and the others, may not be bad singers, but they're not amazing; they certainly can't compete with, as I said, AI, ayaka or Kumi. And that's a fact. And Superfly, the best out of everyone...? No freakin' way. She is above average in singing ability, from the album I heard, but certainly not the best. You obviously don't know a lot about singing. :\

TL, there was no need for that last comment. I never, as I said to Sunshine, dismissed the boybands' vocal abilities. I simply said that they are not as good as singers as many on the red team. Also, Masaharu, yes, he's a very good singer. But Ken Hirai..? Not really. He's average, at best. As far as Ayumi's vocal ability... Her vibrato may be awkward, but I'd like to see you pull it off. I really doubt you could. It takes a great amount of control in your voice, and a lot of people don't have that. Not to mention her range is very good for just a pop star. She didn't start out very good, but Ayumi is an impressive singer now. And about Mika... Just because her voice is raspy, that doesn't mean she's a bad singer. She also has a very good range, and she has a great polished sound. You, also, seem to not know much about singing. >_<'

And I hope that comment above me isn't directed towards me, Karen. D: I would be hurt if somebody thought I didn't pay attention to the lesser known bands, because you have NO idea how many hours I've spent listening to unknown artists, only to be disappointed. I do give everybody a chance - I listen to at least one full album before making any judgment of them - so you can't say I'm biased or that I don't know because I'll only listen to certain people.

^ THIS

That was the assumption I had when I was reading Crystal_Ageha's past posts on here

I apologise if I somehow misunderstood what you have written/wrote but you were giving me the assumption that ayumi's the best vocally outta the whole group of artistes that might be appearing at Kouhaku in due time

In response to Ken Hirai since he's 1 of the 1st few jpop artistes that I listened to when I started my jpop music journey , have you seen his live performance/concerts ?

how many artistes you know out there that can sound great if not even better live as compared to what you can hear on a CD ?

you just go & see his Ken's Bar performances gigs & it's just him with the microphone & just singing acapella & nailing almost every single song in perfect pitch
