1) As far as I know, yes, his name really is Enrique, but I don't think he's ever revealed his full name, in the 25 years since his debut with Barbee Boys. He was born in Columbia and moved to Japan at age three, but I don't know if he's full-blooded Columbian or if he's half Japanese or what. I would imagine he's half-Japanese, it looks like he is.
2) I have no idea, I think it's a cultural Japanese thing.... when you change record labels, for example, it's a "re-debut" rather than a "xth" album, and your name or its spelling is changed. It's almost like, when you're with one record label, you have to kinda pretend any other label affiliations didn't happen. I couldn't tell you for sure, but in Japan it definitely appears that you're a completely different act if you change labels, which is obviously not the case in the west.
