Koda Kumi Produces Christmas Cake and Collaborates with Popular Pâtissier, Friday October 23, 2009 Japan

The singer Koda Kumi and Le Patissier Takagi created a collaborative Christmas cake. The cakes will be sold by major department store chain Sogo & Seibu. Koda put a lot of thought into making a cute and delicious cake. Her idea was turned into reality by pastry chef Takagi Yasumasa, owner of Le Patissier Takagi. A limited supply of 3000 cakes will be sold under the name '"Koda Kumi×Le Patissier Takagi" Xmas LOVE' in Sogo and Seibu stores nationwide.

Koda commented "I asked Chef Takagi to make a cake that looked too cute to eat. Christmas is when you spend time with loved ones, so I hope the cake helps make it a lasting memory." The double layer cake has a diameter of 15 cm and is 'wrapped' with light blue/green ribbons (made of sugar). The upper layer is a strawberry mousse, and an almond-based filling and chocolate ganache provide a nice accent. The lower layer is divided into three more layers, with each made of either 'custard-like' cream or pink sponge cake. The entire cake is covered with a pink glaze. The cake comes with a surprise present and is priced at 8,925 yen (Tax and delivery charges included. It will be delivered refrigerated.)
