^agree njanayrp. She was getting well known by her lyrics in the first place, not her image. I dun think her image played the part until probly Boy & Girls moment (or a bit early). But her lyrics were still praised until probly Ma at least.
Even if you're not that hardcore, you should know that her dark lyrics captured Japanese teenagers in the first place, not her image. Her fashion came afterwards. Of course, now her glamour covers up everything she's done before (and including her mind), which is quite sad...
