And when it comes to somebody like Hikaru Utada - who was born into a rich household with parents already high up in the music industry, who would've forced her into fame even if she wasn't as well liked - I don't think it's fair to talk about how much she knows or how well she earned this or that. Utada said plenty of times that when she was younger she was afraid that her parents wouldn't be able to pay the rent. If she was rich she wouldn't be worried about things like that. I also hate when people say it's not on "Hikki's level". Just because it has a different sound than her Japanese work doesn't make it worse than her Japanese work. I've always thought her English albums were on the same level as her Japanese albums. Everyone says she sold out with TITO but I don't hear anyone saying how she sold out with HS because that album was definitely a lot more mainstream than UB.
