I used to buy OS presses all the time, but recently, I've noticed that the Japan presses are far superior in quality.
Example #1. I got Koda Kumi's "feel my mind" Korean press and then the Japan press to replace it. The korean press has the SM sticker and a Korean translation on the front cover, the Japan press has none of this. The Korean artwork is over saturated, and the disc ink is smudged in comparison to the Japan press.
Example #2. I got BoA's "LOVE & HONESTY" Korean press and have now replaced it with the CD+DVD Japan press. The Korean press is printed on cheap card, while the Japan press is printed on smoother, glossier paper. Again, the Korean press is over saturated in comparison to the Japan press.
Example #3. BoA "LISTEN TO MY HEART". The Korean obi has an advertisement text of BoA (e.g. #1 STAR DEBUT ALBUM etc) on one side, and an explanation of copy control on the other. The Japan obi only has the singles from the album on one side.
China versions are the worst, please avoid them. They are produced extremely cheaply, and it shows. Obi's are printed wonky and aren't folded properly, Chinese writing over the covers, TWO shiny stickers on the artwork, ugh.
Of course, if you don't mind about those differences, by all means purchase OS versions. But, to be honest, I'm paying for the music, so I want the best quality version, hence why I now purchase Japan versions only.
