TOKYO — Singer Kumi Koda, 27, turned on the lights at Seibu Ikebukuro department store’s Christmas display this week, but lost her sparkle when asked about her plans for Christmas.
Koda posed for pictures beneath the display which was designed to look like snow falling from the sky, and recalled memories of a Christmas past. “I’ve been in love many times since elementary school. I remember one time I asked Santa Claus for a photo of a boy I liked, and I was happy when it appeared under my pillow on Christmas Day.”
Koda was less convivial though when asked about this year’s Christmas. Rumored to be seeing SMAP’s Masahiro Nakai, 37, Koda was asked who she would be spending this Christmas with, but she didn’t reply, and just continued smiling for the cameras.
