I just thought of something. You know that red bracelet she's wearing in the Deji Diary book? Apparently, that's the bracelet that Ayu and her friends (including the one that died) wore to symbolize their friendship. It coincides with what somebody else said about the "red string of Japan" to symbolize strength. Maybe this is what Ayu means by RED LINE.
