It's rare for them to invite older acts to the show, especially females. Chisato Moritaka was an exception in 2009, but was invited only because she did a duet with Junichi Inagaki. However, what if Seiko pulled out a Top 10 single again!? Let's compare to the two other (active) idols from around the time of Seiko's debut - Akina Nakamori's last appearance was in 1996 with "MOONLIGHT SHADOW" (ORICON #14) and Kyoko Koizumi's in 1999 with "for my life" (ORICON #33).

Yes, that sounds logical. Problem is that Music Station wasn't on air when she was the most active on doing TV promotion. I'm sure she would have at least 80+ appearances if it would've started a few years in advance. Seiko was actually semi-retired when Music Station went on air in 1986. She had settled down. Good example of this is that in the late 80s, she declined 19 out of 23 (83%) times to appear on TBS' "The Best Ten" music show.
