Just got back from NYC after seeing Utada In The Flesh haha, and I've got to say that the experience was amazing. I'm not going to review the concert song by song, but just give a general overview of what it felt like.

My friend and I got there pretty early and froze our behinds off until 7 p.m. when we got in (with trips to Starbucks for sustenance and bathroom breaks of course!). We were basically all lying/sitting on the sidewalk till about 2 hrs before the show... shame doesn't exist in icy temperatures, I've decided Our toes, hands, everything were freezing, but we got free hot chocolate from the venue and bought some blankets from a pharmacy nearby.

Anyway after we got in, we got like 4th row spots, and when Utada came on after DJ Rizzo's 45-minute mixfest, everyone just lit up. We were bouncing and bopping to "On and On," and the rest of the music just went great.

The music was really loud in the beginning, and Utada had to compete with it, but it evened out pretty quickly. I think most people were too dazed to even care though, so it was great. Her voice sounded amazing, and she was so lively and fun.

During her MC she noted how NYC was the loudest and liveliest venue (of course ), and I definitely agree. All of us fans cheered her like nobody's business, we sang along to every song, and we literally screamed, clapped and stomped for 5 minutes for the encore. I thought my voice would have been gone by the end of the night.

It was intense. It was amazing. Of course we gave her her time onstage to make us laugh and share her love for the city and her fans. She's so sweet.

Everyone was so lively during the songs, I was glad. All of us were living off of that energy. Whether it was waving our arms to "Apple and Cinnamon" or pounding our fists to "You Make Me Want to Be a Man," as Utada fans I think we felt, united. (I had to say it!) It was really like a workout to do all that, but it was so much fun!

I almost burst into tears during "Simple and Clean" because everyone literally sang their hearts out with Utada, after yelling their lungs out for her to come back on stage.

After the concert we made our way out of the venue and the unlucky ones who did coat check had to join a massive line. Of course, being the creepers we are, me and my friend slipped around to the side entrance where we got... dadadada.... autographs!

It was about 12 of us initially, and though we tried to keep it on the down low, of course those numbers increased to like 25. The security boxed us off with some metal bars, but my friend and I were one of the first ones there so we were at the front. They said no photos (I'm sure some will pop up ), but Utada managed to sign a few things, including my "This Is The One" album cover!

All in all, it was a great night! I got to see one of my favorite artists and really have fun at a concert with a ton of strangers who all felt the same love for Utada. Meeting her briefly and getting her autograph was the icing on the cake.

The autograph got smudged a bit, but no matter! Thought that counts

On another note: Yes, security was a bit tight. They didn't check ID when I went in, but I was in the front section of the line. Cameras were a no-no, and they yelled at a few people who kept using them. Didn't see too much of that happening, but didn't really see what was going on behind me.

BEST NIGHT EVER!

There was one screen upstairs I could see and it was showing what they were recording on the various cameras
