V6 TO BREAK UP! SHUKAN BUNSHUN REPOSTS ON A RUMOURED BREAKUP OF V6, A POPULAR JOHNNYS' GROUP.
"Out of the members, Yoshihiko Inohara, Go Morita, and Junichi Okada have told their higher-ups that they want to quit. Other members want the band to stay together, but they plan to have their final concert in November, and have a count down concert on New Years' Eve, where they will officially break up." -- A source who works in television
V6 made their debut in September of 1995. They focused mainly on their music, and eventually appeared on variety shows. In the past several years there were many solo ventures by members, but the ones who are the busiest are Inohara and Okada, who are said to have started talks on breaking up the band.
"It has been decided recently that Inohara will become a presenter for the program 'Asaichi', and will be on tv every weekday morning, so it would be tough to be in a tour or have other jobs. Inohara will be starring in the movie 'SP the motion picture' this year, and in the following year there are talks of a starring role in another feature film. He wants to focus on acting. Therefore, these two members will be bringing in money even if there is a break up." -- A source in the entertainment industry
But what about the other members?
"The other member who wants a break up, Go Morita, says he wants to study stage acting, but seems to just want a break from the tabloids focusing on his romance with Aya Ueto, and his past dalliances with other women. The only big news featuring Ken Miyake was his rumored relationship with Namie Amuro. Hiroshi Nagano and Masayuki Sakamoto don't stand out much in the group, and it seems they would focus on stage acting. It seems Sakamoto will be getting married to former Momusu leader Yuko Nakazawa soon though, so maybe there will be somewhat of a buzz there." -- Same source
So it seems like the only guys who will sell will be Inohara and Okada, but will they really break up that easily?
