There was something I wanted to ask her for a while, but I forgot! So, my brother's birthday part was last weekend and one of his friends is Vietnamese. This kid actually just moved to America a few years ago and his English still isn't that great.

Anyway, I was on YouTube and my friend was with me and she wanted to watch the Balloons video again, so I looked it up and started playing it. Well my brother's friend turned to the computer with a shock looked and exclaimed "It's the New Year's song!"

I asked him what he was talking about and he said it was a song they played every year on and around New Year's celebrations in Vietnam, except he said the version he heard in Vietnam wasn't by DBSK or in Korean.

So my question is-- is Balloons a remake of some New Year's celebratory song used throughout Asia (or only in Vietnam?) I can't think of why else he'd have known the song and so deeply associated it with New Year's in Vietnam. xD
