I'm actually aware of that interview, which is definitely interesting to read again.
Especially for Because of You, I know she says the song was born from what her friend said but I had always thought about it like, isn't it often we talk to our friends about something worrying, and then they tell us a similar story of their own, but show us that their views of it are different? It's happened to me numerous times, and I've written about those sorts of things. It makes me think that maybe Ayu's friends reasoning helped Ayu bring what she wanted to say to words in that song.
