There are hikikomori on 2ch a la Densha Otoko, but why does that matter? Does their opinion not matter because they're like that? There's also a gaysaloon thread for Ayu that regularly has news, does the users' being "gay Japanese hikikomori" make their opinion not count? 2ch is a pretty weird place, but under all the trolling and gross ASCII images, there's some good people there.

Sorry buddy but that pretty much is the status of 2ch-ers. I'm assuming you
do know the status of that place and how most Japanese people view it as and who is typically assumed to be on it.
I was just pointing out that the fact that 2ch likes it doesn't mean JAPAN likes it (
s ). Doesn't mean their opinion doesn't count, it just means it's quite the niche that won't determine something like song popularity.
And I'm sure you also know that 3/4 of 2ch is about rape pornography, lolicon, and overall creepy-ass crap.
