High sales doesn't mean high quality, always.
At least RnC sounds better than the overrated and messy P<F imo lol (and I like Namie too btw)

i hate when people think that high sales = high quality and low sales = low quality. some of the best artists are underrated and "flop" and some of the worst are overrated and still sell a lot (hello britney spears and most other popular artists in the US except a select few). it might just be that in a few years ayu will be an "underrated" artist, and that's okay, as long as she keeps the quality music coming.

And the thing is, people will often say Ayu isn't as fresh as she used to be and that she's 'no Goddess of the jpop world' or something like that, meaning they think its stupid for the people to like most of what she does, even now. But, you know, for some people, like me for example, her music will always be those things to me; fresh, and interesting and such. But this is naturally because Ayu is the only jpop artist I can actually stand to listen to this days, and because the rest of my music is heavy jrock bands. Because she's a female artist that's writing about the emotions that used to be so important to me, and touch me so much in the past.
Because of this, even though not everyone will like her work at all stages, to someone like me, she'll always stand out.
Does that make any sense? *tends to ramble*
Forgive me! I'm a writer, and I write my feelings too much -_-

no i get what you mean. she obviously puts a lot of effort and thought into her music. it's like with each new song we get a peek into her diary, it's interesting. i think ayu has a great combination - thoughtful lyrics + great arrangements + emotional voice.
