Those nail are so pretty *-*
I translated another older interview, around the release of her 2nd single. It's short~
Cawaii 2001 May
Spoiler:
The theme: people are carrying similar dreams, but right now, they are separated from each other.
Last year December Koda Kumi debuted with the single “TAKE BACK”. She debuted with the same song in America. An R&B style, a melody full of different shades and a singing voice filled with emotion. The song slowly gained more and more popularity. She even peaked at #20 on the American dance chart.
“I thought it would be great if people from all over the world could learn my name, but I was shocked by how far I came in America. I still can’t believe it!”
In this powerful manner, she released her second single “Trust Your Love”. Elements of R&B and reggae are incorporated into the song. And it has a passionate melody that remains in your heart.
“I wanted to do something different from what other people were doing. I thought that people could come to understand me if I could master singing this song. This song has a “bang” to me.”
The lyrics spell out the feelings of people who live far apart from each other even though they love each other.
“May, when people go to university or study abroad, is the month that comes after all the meetings and partings. People are carrying similar dreams, but right now, they are separated from each other. As soon as I heard the song that theme came to mind. I wrote the lyrics thinking about how I would feel in such a situation.”
Without being captured by a genre, Koda Kumi aims to convey deep emotion with her singing voice. At 18 years old, she has started moving earnestly on a worldwide scale.
