Because she tries so hard in all the performances then I tend to like almost every performance she does. (The only ones I'm really thinking about are concerts, since I dont watch all TV lives)
For the songs that are not brilliant vocally it can't be helped, some singers have off days just like everyone else has off days, and thinking back to the last few years she's had things working against her. Things like th pointed out about the CDL; she just makes me admire her more for fighting against all the things that try to drag her down.
I don't think there's been a general concert performance I wasn't happy with. She could just be on stage in a simple pair of jeans, a t-shirt and the microphone stand and as long as she sings with emotion then I'll be happy.
At the moment no performance I watched comes to mind where I said "oh...well...that was disappointing...I was hoping for something else."
