I wouldn't say vicious really lol But when pets like cats and dogs are used to the human contact of their owners, and they don't get it, even for a short while, and sometimes for a number of hours (depending on the relationship) when their owner gives them their time to play with them they take advantage of it, and they get quite excited. Especially as puppies they don't realize if they're being a bit rough.

I've been surrounded by pets most of my life

And my dad's cat, who is quite close to my dad, gets like that when my dad hasn't been home for hours because of work; he'd start playing with his hand and then biting it, if you tell him 'no' he'll start to lick where he bit you, it's their way of apologizing
I'm still dazzled by those shows; totally not something I'd wear but theirs something soo beautiful about them
