for me, what describes an "Avex diva" (weird term) is a female artist under Avex with a LONG and lasting career with great success. They happen to have influenced Japanese pop culture to a certain extent and are leaders in terms of fashion, beauty styles and musical success, with long, lavish tours and PVs, an army of fans and of haters.
Only Ayu, Kuu and Amuro qualify as current Avex divas. Notable mentions from the past would be hitomi and Ami Suzuki, too.

LOL!
I like how you all mention hitomi as the avex diva too

she used to be so influential in the end of 90s and beginning of 00s. She might not be active anymore, but her presence did influence the music career of J-pop.
Too bad ami suzuki cant have the fans like she did in her debut era, or else she'll be the one who still can compete with ayu, namie or kuu.
