^Sound-wise and content-wise there is no difference.
It's just that collectors prefer Japanese press because they generally use higher quality materials for the packaging. The booklets, artwork, and obis use high quality paper and the printing is excellent; the cases are also sturdier too.
Overseas press, like Taiwanese, use paper that's about the same as regular US/EU CDs. It's not terrible but compared to JP press, you can tell the difference. Also, the obis for OS press aren't usually intended to be saved so they feel cheaper and the cases are lighter and more easily breakable. Other than Chinese text on the obi and an additional, seperate translation sheet for lyrics, everything else is the same.
