My friend (also a fan) watched it and said "Whaaaaat?! Did she just stab herself?!" XP
I thought of it as the ink was her writing and it's consuming her as the ink pours over her head. And let's face it, her writing usually isn't exactly sunny. Even her happy songs usually have dark undertones.
