I don't think "momentum" sounds like M at all, in fact the idea had never even come to my mind until someone here said it. I love "M" but I just can't see any of its brilliance in "momentum".

Take all Ayu's rock songs like GAME, About You, Mirrorcle World, is this LOVE?, Microphone, Because of you, etc... those songs all have a more "polished" feel. Until that Day... and Kiss o' Kill feel "harsher" - like more "raw" in the mastering department is what I am talking about. A more "classic rock" feel to them I guess I would say. I am not saying they are bad songs (although Until that Day... took me a while to warm up to and I still don't think it's that amazing), but they are much more "raw" than her other music.
As far as appreciation for slow beautiful songs... if JEWEL is anything at all it is a slow beautiful song. So simple but perfect. Secret just doesn't have that strong of a melody to carry the song along like that. The chorus is just like ... um, this is it? Lol.

I love "Secret"! Yeah sure, it might not have much climax or pitch change but it's one of Ayu's most beautiful ballads in my opinion. Her low, melodic voice, the bittersweet melody and lyrics, the desperation in the chorus and the violins it's just AH! I love it, and I think the melody is great at carrying the song along.
But I guess it would also be one of those songs that have a depth not many can appreciate nowadays. *sigh* No no, it's gotta be fast and it's gotta happen things every second, the voice has to sound different all the time, the lyrics have to be more interesting, there's gotta be more instruments and the melody should change more...
Not meaning to offend anyone.

Sometimes I just think slower songs like "Secret" don't get enough credit, just because it isn't the most noticeable or unique song, it doesn't mean it's bad. Sometimes I can't help but relate this to how some people can't listen to classical music, such as Mozart and Beethoven, and gotta have music where things happen more and go quicker.
But that's taste for you. Different for everyone so I just have to accept that "Secret" is to me a very underrated song.
And I'm going horribly off-topic. Anyhow, I believe someone said "crossroad" sounds like "replace" or "winding road" or similar; that does interest me a bit. I love both those songs too. I have a habit of liking Ayu songs everyone else seems to hate, and not be interested in some of the songs everyone else worships.
