I don't think it's lazy to have a cover. I find that it's a lot harder to make a decent cover of a previously released track.
There's a lot of work in covers. Some artists just tend to not work as hard as others. Since Ayu rarely does official covers on releases, I think it's safe to say that she'll work hard on this song. I expect nothing less of her.
